Contracts with options years of 2015 or later. If you draft a player with an option year in their contract. You will be able to make the decision on the option year at the end of the preceding year, your fantasy decision is separate from the real life decision, meaning. If you draft player and he has a 10.0m option for 2015, you can exercise that option for 2015 even if it is turned down by the player or MLB team in real life. You can also decide not to exercise that option for your fantasy team and the player then goes into the free agent pool.
Exercising an option year does not count against your free agent exemptions.
